Thus, I decided to make the advertisements available to anyone who might like to use them, via this page, and if anyone does use them I will reciprocate lower down on that same page.
A while ago I had to create advertisements for use through that service, Project Wonderful, that I mentioned some time back. Well, what the heck? Maybe there's some people out there insane enough to like Boy Scouts ½ to the extent that they would like to put such things on their website voluntarily! I know, a crazy thought! But... you never know!
Thus, I decided to make the advertisements available to anyone who might like to use them, via this page, and if anyone does use them I will reciprocate lower down on that same page.

Howdy, folks. Please forgive the solicitation of assistance with site promotion, but I have a couple of quick requests.
First, if anyone (or multiple anyones) here might be willing to go to The Web Fiction Guide and write a review of Boy Scouts ½, I would be rather appreciative. (Especially if this hypothetical someone is someone other then you, Jason... Not that you aren't welcome to do so if you wish, but a review from someone not in some way involved with the production would be especially awesome.) Honest opinions appreciated, even if they aren't completely positive -- not that I don't live in hope that they are! And then, on a related note, votes for Boy Scouts ½ at TopWebFiction.com would also be appreciated. Everyone vote now, and vote on a weekly basis! Finally, a quick note of possible interest to people who actually like new content... As of a few days ago there's a tiny bit of new art on the Art page... My (semi-successful) attempt at creating the Porter sisters in The Sims 3. I now return you to your patient waiting for the next new story. (Looking forward to the next new one myself!) Well, the first if you don't count, "The Worst Ranma ½ Fanfic Ever," ha ha.
Anyway, presented for your reading enjoyment is Boy Scouts ½ in Japan, part 5: An American Otaku in Akihabara, by yours truly. My recent visit to the land of Jason Bertovich along with the recent completion of the website restoration process inspired me, and thus the initial storyline of the "in Japan" series is finally completed. ('Twas a nice visit, and I look forward to reciprocating hosting duties someday... Jason can finally actually visit the Holyoke Mall!) On another note, for those who care about such things, I figured I should mention that I made a few adjustments to the Timeline page, specifically concerning Perspectives IX and X. Previously, I had placed them both after Boy Scouts ½, part 30. But then I realized that Perspectives IX had the Porters mailing out something to which they receive responses in Boy Scouts ½, part 24, thus placing Perspectives IX before the storyline which part 24 is a part of. Then I noticed the date on the invitation Jason receives in the beginning of Perspectives X was a late June date, which would place the event Jason was being invited to prior to Troop 192's summer camp excursion, and thus Perspectives X was moved earlier in the timeline to be before Boy Scouts ½, part 26. (Technically, Perspectives X begins right where IX ends, but there is a time jump in the story to the aforementioned event Jason was invited to, and that is where the meat of the story takes place, so I used that event as the anchor for placement on the timeline.) Hope you enjoy the new story! Talk to you again, soon! Yeah, there are maybe one or two minor things, extras from the old website, that have yet to be ported over. And I may get to that eventually. But, to quote Dallas from the film Alien, "Horseshit! We can take off without that." It has been 315 days, exactly 45 weeks, since Boy Scouts ½ was reborn here on Weebly. And well... kids grow up so fast these days, don't they? Sniff, sniff. So... today I re-publish the final story that existed on the old and vanished Boy Scouts ½ Universe website. I give to you Jason Bertovich's Perspectives X: Those Wedding Bells Are Breaking Up That Old Gang of Mine, part 1 -- You Are Cordially Invited.... I hope you enjoy it! I had to drive over 500 miles to get this for you! (Well, I didn't have to... Strictly speaking, what was needed for restoration of the story could have been acquired through online communications... But I was planning a visit anyway, and it seems a nice touch to me that I can be typing this blog post while sitting on the couch of a person who has played a big part in the history of Boy Scouts ½, and who has been one of the biggest supporters of seeing it returned to the internet.) Well, guess I need to start doing some writing myself then, huh? But in the meantime... Restoration... Complete!
Boy Scouts ½, part 30: For Whom the Bell Tolls and Boy Scouts ½: Epilogue are now online, completing the restoration of Year One of the main series, thus concluding "Boy Scouts ½," and paving the way for "Boy Scouts ½ in Japan."
The Epilogue is a bit of an odd story, since it deals with the "real life" Matthew Atanian, who at the time was still dating (and living with) Jessi Pysz, and this is reflected in the story. It leaves me with some awkward feelings in retrospect, since (a) things didn't necessarily end well with Jessi, and (b) I am with someone else now, and exceedingly happy with her. So it is odd to me to be presenting a "me" who might have been happy with someone else, even more odd then the cameo Nicole Colosimo had in Kenny's Laboratory. (After all, Nikki and I parted on more friendly turns... and also never were as serious as Jessi and I, having never even gotten as far as meeting in person!) In the end, though, I can't change or omit the Epilogue. Yes, it is a bit uncomfortable to me now. But at the same time, it is a snapshot of the me who existed in 2006, who would be the me who was at the time that Boy Scouts ½ Year One was concluded. It is who I was, and without that I wouldn't be the me I am now. (If you are curious, it is different with fictional Matt. Especially as the object of his affection is a purely fictional character! So Matt pining after Sarah doesn't bother me.) Anyway, hope you enjoyed Boy Scouts ½! And remember, this is just the end of a segment of The Boy Scouts ½ Universe. The story will continue! I offer to you the final two side-stories needing to be restored to the Boy Scouts ½ website! (That isn't to say there will never again be any side stories... but if there are new ones, they'll have to be written, first!)
The first is the final Boy Scouts ½ / Anime Deathmatch crossover event, Anime Deathmatch Boy Scouts ½: KSJ2K. Let's get it on! The second... I suppose technically isn't a story. It is a song! One of the Ranma ½ closing themes, now with Boy Scouts ½ based lyrics! For your reading pleasure, Lambada Boy Scouts! We're actually starting to get close to fully restored to where Boy Scouts ½ left off... Let us see here... Kenny's Laboratory: Fully restored. Boy Scouts ½: Side-stories all restored. Only one more storyline (in five parts) and an epilogue, and it will be fully restored! Perspectives: Only two more to restore. (As they are set after the end of Boy Scouts ½, but before the beginning of Boy Scouts ½ in Japan, this is when these final two Perspectives will be attended to.) Boy Scouts ½ in Japan: Four stories to restore... Then new writing can begin! The fifth Boy Scouts ½ in Japan story has actually been probably about two-thirds written and sitting on my hard drive for a few years now... With the website almost there, I am starting to really look forward to trying to get back to it... and beyond! I actually fiddled with BS½ in Japan part 5 a wee bit a day or so ago, reworking where I'd left off a bit... adding a few sentences... May not seem like much to an observer, but seeing as it is the first time I've touched any truly new Boy Scouts ½ related material in quite a while, it has me feeling good! So, to the probably one or two (although hopefully many) faithful readers out there, patiently suffering through this long period of restoration and hungry for the new... Faith! We are coming towards the end of the tunnel, and I can see light in the distance! The TV Tropes page had been accessible on the menu bar on the top of each page. Alas, this had slightly overstuffed the menu, causing a "More" tab at the end that, when hovered over, caused a drop-down menu to appear listing "TV Tropes" and "Forum."
I wanted to make things a bit cleaner on the menu bar, so I removed TV Tropes from it, allowing the "More" tab to return to just being a "Forum" tab. A link to the TV Tropes page can now be found on the "Extras" page. (Also listed on the Extras page is an additional feature now available on TV Tropes, a Boy Scouts ½ Character page. As with the main tropes page, TV Tropes is editable by anyone, so anyone who wishes to flesh this page out more is welcome to help out!) I plan on doing a bunch of updating today. I've gotten two things done thus far.
The first concerns the two Christmas tales, Boy Scouts ½, part 13 and Perspectives VI. The two stories take place in a very overlapping fashion, and anyone who has ever wondered what it might be like to read them all as one continuous narrative... well, wonder no more! The second thing I've done thus far: I'd noticed on the History page that there were missing about a year's worth of update notes, from the end of the Geocities era. I have since located these notes and restored them. This begins with the 6 February 2000 note, which is a rather... well... notable one, as it details the end of the "John Smith Publishing, Inkorportaed" website, and subsequent birth of the "Boy Scouts ½ Universe" website! Anyway, I must now take my beloved to lunch. I'll be back later with some more stories for you! Hope to get at least two, maybe three more for you today. One final update for today before I go to bed... The Art of Boy Scouts ½!
The page currently contains various pieces of artwork produced for Boy Scouts ½ back in the day. I do plan to soon update this page a bit more with... photos! In addition to this art, I found some photos from back in the day that are of some of the various people who have had fictionalized versions of themselves appear in Boy Scouts ½. Finally, I'll be more then happy to further update this page should any people who fancy themselves artist be finding themselves inspired... Anyone interested can find details towards the bottom of the Art page. Well, good night, folks! If the Weebly statistics (which can show how many unique visitors one of its hosted websites has had in a day) can be believed, then Boy Scouts ½ has been doing particularly good this past week. Surely, it helps that I've been fairly consistently adding new content, but still I have been pleasantly surprised by the results. For about a week, the site has been doing two things it has never done before: 1. It has been consistently beating my other website which has also had a bit of updating lately (although admittedly not quite as much), and in the past has always had more visitors then Boy Scouts ½ even in periods where neither website had had an update in a while. 2. It exceeded 100 unique visitors. That was new. Then it maintained that for a full week. Wow. Then this happened, just now. Yup! Not quite 9:00 p.m., and the number of unique visitors today reached 200! This has me a wee bit excited. So, a warm greetings to any theoretical new readers out there! I do hope you are enjoying your visit(s), and please feel free to say hello!
